Dog Age Calculator
Convert your dog's age into human years using the modern vet formula, not the outdated "multiply by 7" rule.
See your dog's age on a specific future date.
How it works
The old "multiply by 7" rule for dog years is outdated. Modern veterinary science shows dogs age much faster in their first two years, then more slowly afterward. This calculator uses the updated formula: the first year equals 15 human years, the second year equals 9, and each year after that equals about 5 human years, giving a more accurate picture of your dog's life stage for health and care planning.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the dog years formula different from multiply by 7?
Dogs age much faster in their first two years, then more slowly afterward. The updated formula (first year = 15, second = 9, then +5/year) reflects this more accurately.
Can I see my dog's age on a future date?
